Domain Name Sales Activity – 27th June to 10th July

The new financial year has brought with it a flurry of activity, as our customers’ wasted little time in securing their preferred domains. Across the last fortnight, Netfleet was proud to broker six premium domain names, and as always, we have the details so you can start eyeing your next purchase.

Our highest selling domain from the 27th of June to the 10th of July was binhiremelbourne.com.au, with the name being secured for a final sum of $3,899.45. The new owner is a private company that currently operates skip bin hire services throughout inner Melbourne under the brand name Unlimited Bins. There is little doubt they will be pleased with the descriptive keywords that make this domain a memorable option that fits their needs, and in some respects, also acts as a call to action.

Currently, Google searches for the phrase “bin hire Melbourne” return numerous results that use alternative wording, therefore, with some added focus on SEO, the new owner could improve the domain’s search ranking. With this being the case, the owner would be well placed to decide between which of his two domains to use as the primary name, and which one to act as a redirect.

Placing second among premium domain names from the last fortnight, hom.com.au was sold for $2,425.45. In this instance, the owner is a recently formed Fixed Unit Trust – The Trustee For Apollo Cardiac Services Unit Trust. At first glance one might wonder how the proprietor would intend to benefit from this domain name, however, the Trust is operating under a business name titled “Australian Cardiology Heart of Melbourne”. Accordingly, hom.com.au serves as an excellent acronym for the business name, which might otherwise be more difficult to remember under a longer domain, and with less marketing impact.

Next up, Sydney-based strata management services business, Independent Unit Management, acquired ium.com.au for $1,897.45. Another example where Netfleet has been able to help its customers secure the right solution to their business domain needs, this three letter acronym will help the owner attract new customers through a name that better aligns with their marketing efforts.

Recently selling for $1,435.45, noosa.net.au joins the list of premium domains sold. With a strong affiliation towards the popular travel destination north of Brisbane, the domain would be ideally suited for a variety of tourism related purposes. Although a “.net” domain, given its narrow target audience such a factor becomes less relevant than if it were a domain trying to capture a broader audience or several markets. Current trends indicate 210 searches are made each month by Australians for the term “Noosa”, and the domain operates with a Cost-Per-Click of $0.36.

Completing the list were our final two premium domains sold during the last fortnight, both to private companies. Another acronym, alj.com.au, caught the attention of one of our users, selling for a final price of $1,396.95. With a greater level of flexibility in their use, and a heightened degree of liquidity, we’ve regularly seen three letter names feature among our highest selling domains. Meanwhile, carinfo.com was sold for $1,026.25. With Australian car sales on pace to set a new annual record, the end user might just intend to target the many Australians searching for a new car by leveraging the keyword-orientated nature of this domain.

That’s it for this occasion, stay tuned for the latest updates in our next post.
